Unboxing: Boxycharm September 2018

Hey lovelies! Last month was a total bust for Boxycharm; I still haven’t posted a review of last month’s box. That’s how bad it was. I’ve honestly only used one item from the box. I better get on that…

This month, however, I’m much happier with!

The theme this month is Wild Flower! How cute is that?

This month’s box has five products, like always, but they’re all makeup related so they can be used in one sitting!

Pretty Vulgar Nightingale Smokey Eyeshadow Palette ($35) – This palette is gorgeous! The presentation is so original! I was slightly disappointed seeing it up close because the shadows don’t completely fit into the slots and I thought it looked a little cheap. But from a normal distance it’s a stunning presentation! I get it, it can be difficult to cut that cardboard perfectly.

I did some quick swatches of a few of the shades (not all) and I was a little disappointed with how muddy some of the shades look. I guess I’ll have to really work to blend those!

Girlactik Skin Glow Duo ($26) – This is probably my least favorite product of the box. When I opened it half of the product was stuck to the mirror and there was a weird film all over everything. I believe in my Instagram story I referred to it as “goo.” I tried to fix it and as you can see I accidentally dug my nail into it.

This product could be great, but I haven’t had the chance to use it yet. I was just disappointed with the initial opening and gooeyness.

Alamar Cosmetics Ojitos Brush Set ($18) – I was so excited about these brushes! I love eye brushes! I have plenty but I still want more! And these are perfect!

Grande Cosmetics GrandeLips Hydraplump Liquid Lipstick, Red Delicious ($25) – That is a mouthful of a name! I’m so happy that Boxycharm finally gave me a red lipstick! After only one use I can confirm that this lipstick is pigmented! It lasted almost all day! Plus it tingles when you first apply it (which I love)! This product claims to hydrate and plump your lips… Stay tuned for a review.

Luscious Cosmetics Angel Eyes Primer, Nude ($14) – This could not have come at a better time! I just ran out of eye primer! I’m excited to play with this more!

There you have it! What did you think of this month’s Boxycharm? I promise I’ll post a review of these products because I’m excited to try them all!

Thank you for reading!

  1. I don’t know how I feel about this months box! I really love the brushes, so I’m excited about those! I got the Laura Gellar blush and I like that and I got a lipstick from a brand I’ve never heard and it looks nice! I’m not too keen on the palette, but thats just because I’m not a cool tone neutral kinda gal. I much prefer warm tones and reds, but thats just me! I do think this box would be good for most people though!

    1. I agree with you about the palette! I normally don’t wear cool tones. Warm tones all the way! My skin has warm undertones so cool tones just don’t look great on me. The colors are very pretty though and I agree that it’s not totally for me but a lot of people would love it. Im trying to challenge myself to use colors I wouldn’t normally use so cool tones palette it is! I did have fun making a smokey eye the other day though! 😊

  2. I hope you can make the Nightingale palette work for you, I didn’t end up resubbing but that palette has been on my wishlist for a long time. I love cool toned palettes!
Those Alamar brushes look so soft! I know it’s hard to tell that from a picture but I bet they’re perfect.
Grande lipsticks are so expensive, I’ve seen that brand at Sephora before but I’ve been daunted by the price. It’s awesome that Boxycharm included it and that it lasted most of the day for you.
I hope next month is even better!

    1. I think I can definitely make the Nightingale palette work especially in winter (if it ever cools down haha)!
The Alamar brushes are sooo soft! I’m really happy with them!
I’d never heard of the lipstick brand before but I’m glad I got a bright shade! So far I’m digging the tingly feeling I get! I’m afraid I’ll love it too much and want to buy more shades!
