Unboxing: Boxycharm July 2018

Hey guys! Welcome back! I was originally going to publish a post about what I’ve been doing and why I haven’t posted in a while, but then my Boxycharm came in last night. Of course this beat that post!

I didn’t know how to feel about this month’s Boxycharm when I saw the spoilers, last month’s box was so phenomenal that it’s hard to beat.

The theme this month is Roadtrippin! How cute is that? I have a lot of road trips planned next summer because my Austrian friends will be in the country and we’re going to hit up as many National Parks as possible! It’s too far away! Perhaps I should plan a mini-road trip this summer!

Anyway, this box does fit the theme! What types of products do you need on a road trip? An eyeshadow palette, mascara, blush, eyebrow cream and a mask (if you happen to be glamping maybe?). The eyeshadow palette and the blush have mirrors as well! Perfect for on-the-go!

So let’s get into it!

Crown Brush Fuego Eyeshadow Palette ($29.99): Right off the bat I love that this palette has a mirror! It’s a warm toned palette which is right up my alley! There are four shimmers and six matte shades. I was expecting the shades to be more varied. When I read warm palette I was thinking oranges and reds, but I can always use warm browns for work!

The only thing that confuses me is what the shades are named. Where are the shade names? I checked the box, I checked the website… what are the shade names? Have I gone mad? Shade names are part of the fun. How strange.

Wander Beauty Unlashed Volume and Curl Mascara ($24): The description of this mascara claims that it volumnizes, lengthens, strengthens and conditions lashes. We’ll find out if it lives up to the claims! I do really like the brush, it curves and looks like it’s designed to fit lashes perfectly!

Note Cosmetics Luminous Silk Compact Blusher, Desert Rose ($11.99): According to the description, this blush contains argan oil and hydrates skin. My only concern is the argan oil, remember my Ulta haul a while ago? Yeah, I discovered that the argan oil was making my face break out… hopefully this blush doesn’t break me out. If it does hydrate and doesn’t break me out that would be amazing!

As far as packaging goes, the compact is cute! I love the mirror (of course) and it’s nice that it comes with a little brush, even if I will never use the brush (it’s a little flimsy/rough).

Chella Beauty Eyebrow Cream, Tantalizing Taupe ($26): I’m worried that this shade will be too light for my brows. As I’ve mentioned before, my brows are naturally darker than my hair. Perhaps I should change my hair color on the Boxycharm website. The brow brush itself is firm yet soft so I really like it!

The design is interesting because the brush is on one side of the tube and the product is on the other side of the tube.

Farmacy Beauty Bright On Mask ($38): This is a vitamin C clay mask that is supposed to improve skin’s brightness, texture and tone. I’m intrigued by the mask and I’m excited to try it! I just hope that it doesn’t dry out my skin. I can’t wait to try it!

The total value of this box retails at $129.98 (according to my handy information pamphlet). Not too shabby for paying only $21!

Have you received your box yet? What did you think? Stay tuned for my review of all of these products!

  1. I’m also baffled that the Crown palette has no shade names! They really do make the palette more fun, and I find it easier to grow attached to palettes with names lol The shades do look really pretty though!
I hope that argan blush doesn’t break you out, that would be the worst 😦
That Farmacy mask has intrigued me, I can’t wait to read your review so I know if it really works or not.
This looks like a great box, I think I still loved June’s box more though!

    1. I agree! The June box was so amazing I don’t think anything could beat it! You definitely got out at the right time! Everything else will always be slightly disappointing after the Alamar palette!
I still don’t understand why the Crown palette doesn’t have shade names! I thought many mine was an error at first. You’re right you do grow more attached if there are shade names. Interesting…
I hope the argan blush is okay with my skin too! I keep forgetting to use it but I’m determined not to forget today! And I’ll definitely keep you updated about the Farmacy mask! I’m planning on using it on my day off while I do homework! XD

      1. It’s so hard to review something without shade names too, I hate having to describe things as “the slightly darker red shade” and the “matte pink shade”. Just give us shade names haha!
Let me know how it goes with the blush and the mask! homework is the perfect time to face mask =D

      2. I was just going to make up my own shade names. “For the purpose of this blog post, these are the shade names…” 🤣
I’ve been wearing the blush and so far so good! It’s not breaking me out and it’s really pigmented! So much so that the first time I put it on I was like 😳 *blend blend blend* 😂

      3. Lol! I like it, thats a great idea 😄
Thats great to hear, I’m glad it worked for you. That was me when I got the Pretty Vulgar blush that was a neon pink, so much blending! 😂
