Spring Cleaning: Eyeliner

I’ve subscribed to several makeup subscriptions the past year. I was with Ipsy for about a year, Birchbox for about six months or so until I finally found Boxycharm. The thing about makeup subscriptions though is that you often get products that you just won’t use. Like pencil eyeliners. I hate pencil eyeliners.

I wear a winged eyeliner every day. Sometimes I go big and sometimes I go subtle, but there’s always a wing. I’ve been doing it ever since I was in middle school (wow, that’s over 15 years now). It all goes back to my obsession with Ancient Egypt. That eyeliner was fierce! And although I wore no other makeup at all, I always wore eyeliner. Correction: liquid eyeliner.

I discovered liquid eyeliner in middle school, probably eighth grade, and I’ve never gone back to pencil. I’ve tried pencil eyeliner, but the wing is never as clean and pencil eyeliner tends to fall down under my eyes by the end of the day. I will cheat on my liquid eyeliner with a nice gel eyeliner, but never pencil.

Back to the makeup subscriptions. No matter how many times I left negative reviews of the pencils, they kept sending them to me!

The other day I decided to do some spring cleaning of my makeup. There’s so much that I haven’t even opened in months! It’s time for me to do a Project Pan. But I also came across a bag of these pencil eyeliners that I either used once or never tried.

I have a girlfriend who dabbles in makeup and wears pencil eyeliner and I asked her if she would like them. So I’m giving her all of my single use/ never used eyeliners.

What am I giving her? Urban Decay All Nighter Eyeliner, Model Co eyeliner,Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil, Vintage Smokey Eye Pencil and Makeup Forever Aqua XL Eye Pencil. I’m not saying anything negative about these brands, I just personally don’t like pencil eyeliner.

Hooray for spring cleaning! Do you ever find yourself holding on to things you’ll never use?
