My Current Nighttime Skincare Routine

Hey guys!

My skincare routine is very important because, well, I’m not getting any younger. I’m sure I did my skin zero favors by using those alcohol wipes to take off my makeup when I was younger. Do you remember those? What was I thinking???

If you read my Holy Grail Under Eye Product post you know that I have dry skin. I live in the desert so, between the climate and the godawful hard water, my skin is looking for all the moisture it can get!

My skin is feeling more hydrated recently so I thought I would share my current skincare routine with you!

Bioderma micellar water

First thing first, I have to remove my makeup! I use Bioderma Micellar Cleansing Water with cotton pads to go over my eyes and face to remove the majority of my makeup. This stuff doesn’t feel too harsh on my skin but sometimes it stings my eyes (not bad but a little).

Next, I cleanse my face with Cerave Hydrating Facial Cleanser for normal to dry skin and my SOLO Mio Sonic Face Cleanser and Massager Brush. I love the way the Solo Mio feels on my skin! It’s like a massage for your face! I stick to 15 seconds per side of my face and 15 seconds on my forehead. I also love the Cerave Cleanser because it doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry like all the other cleansers I’ve tried do. I’ve learned, through trial and error as well as YouTube, that foaming cleansers are drying to the skin.

Skin & Co Truffle Therapy Face Toner

Depending on how my skin is feeling I’ll apply toner. I usually go for toner when it’s that time of the month and my skin breaks out a bit or if I feel like I wore more makeup than usual and I really want to make sure it’s all off. I’m using Skin & Co Truffle Therapy Face Toner with cotton pads. I got this toner in an Ipsy bag and I really like it so I purchased a full size (with the coupon provided, of course). It has truffle, calendula, rose and rosemary estraxts (it smells so good)!

CeraVe Renewing Night Cream

After my skin has had time to dry, I rub CeraVe Renewing Night Cream all over my face. This night cream is thick, which I love! It’s really why I love this night cream so much!

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair and Clinique All About Eyes Serum

Next comes under the eyes. I’ve been using either Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair or Clinique All About Eyes Serum. I usually alternate between the two. I love both of these products! You already know I love Clinique All About Eyes Serum from this post. When my Estee Lauder sample is up I’ll purchase a full size of it!

Organic coconut oil

After the creams have had a chance to settle in, I warm up coconut oil between my palms to make a liquid and cover my face. Coconut oil has mixed reviews as far as skincare goes. I’ve heard a lot of people say that it clogs pores and makes them break out. Well, my skin is as dry as the desert I live in so I don’t have this problem. Coconut oil has always treated my skin well so I lather it on my face and neck before bed.

I purchase my coconut oil at Costco because I use so much of it! I put it on my face, my body and my hair. I even do oil pulling for my teeth and gums. Also, this is a separate tub from the coconut oil that I put in my coffee. Like I said, we use a lot of coconut oil!

Organic castor oil

The last step to my routine is putting Castor Oil on my eyelashes. I use a brow brush to apply the castor oil to my upper and lower lashes. I don’t have very long eyelashes, but I’ve noticed that the castor oil has helped my eyelashes to grow a little bit. Or is it wishful thinking? I keep applying it with hopes that they’ll continue to grow! I have before pictures! Just waiting a decent amount of time to do the after pictures!

Do you use any of these products in your nighttime skincare routine? Let me know in the comments!

Be well!

  1. You’re the third person I’ve heard mention the CeraVe cleanser this week, I need to try it once I’m done my current cleanser. My skin is always so dry.
I’ve also heard mixed reviews about coconut oil as skincare, maybe it’s better for dry skin?

    1. I definitely recommend the CeraVe cleanser! It’s the only cleanser I’ve used that doesn’t make my face feel even drier! I do think that coconut oil is just good for dry skin. I have some friends that say it makes them break out really bad but they have oily skin to begin with. Us dry skin girls need all the oil we can get! 😊

      1. It sounds perfect for me!
That’s so true, my skin has been really awful and dry lately so I’ve been putting pure vitamin E oil on my face to try to restore my dry patches. It’s working but the oil is so sticky, I should try coconut oil before bed. Plus it smells better 😀

      2. I haven’t thought about vitamin E oil! Just be careful because coconut oil can stain your pillowcase! I haven’t noticed it with my face but it has stained my pillowcases when I put it in my hair. Maybe because I use so much. 🤔
